Beth David – A Caring Community – YES!
We want to let you know about some great things that are happening within Membership at Beth David and also with our greater membership community outreach.
First of all, our membership community is up and running. Why are we calling it ‘membership community’ instead of just ‘membership’? Because Beth David is made up of members and it is our members that make up our community! We would love for more of you to get involved as it’s our Beth David members that make our congregation so special.
The second thing we would like to address is an outreach group that we’ve had for many years called Chevrat Chesed. Chevrat Chesed, now to be know as “Caring Community,” is made up of Beth David members who work together to provide short term assistance to (other) members of our community who are ill, have suffered a loss, are welcoming a new baby or are in need of support and have reached out. This assistance can include providing meals, visiting the person at home or at the hospital, running errands, or providing transportation to services / medical appointments. Finally, we would like to tell you about an upcoming shmooze event – BBQ and Barchu. Maybe, you look forward to this event and attend every year. If not, we are telling you, CBD and BBQ & Barchu is the place to be at 6pm on August 23rd. Come and reconnect with friends while enjoying a yummy BBQ dinner of hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ chicken, veggie burgers and chicken nuggets and plenty of side dishes. Services follow the meal. RSVP online or call the office at 408-257-3333. Deadline is 8/14 or when event sells out. Deadline to RSVP is Aug 14 and this event ALWAYS sells out! 😎
