The Henry E. and Joan H. Stone Family Scholarship Fund was established by the parents of members Linda (and Joe) Weiss. Linda’s parents, of blessed memory, started this fund to help offset college expenses for the children of Beth David members. Qualified applicants should be current or incoming undergraduates at an accredited four-year college or university. Awards are evaluated using several criteria. These include student financial need, school record and possible immigration status. Other factors included synagogue and school activities, commitment and involvement in Jewish activities such as Jewish camps, USY BBYO, Jewish Student Unions, and of course, at Beth David. Students must complete a short answer evaluation and be available for a virtual or in-person interview with members of the scholarship committee, if more information is needed.
To be eligible, recipients must be accepted for a four-year Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degrees. Their university or college must be fully accredited within the United States or Israel. Students are invited to reapply each year, though an award does not automatically ensure subsequent renewal. The Scholarship committee is now accepting applications for the Fall 2025 semester of college. The application can be found HERE
Applications must be submitted to the Beth David office no later than March 31, 2025
