Give Back

There is a custom of donating money before Passover for ma’ot chittim, which means “wheat money,” or money to buy matzah, so that people who would otherwise be unable to afford matzah will have food to eat.  This year, Beth David will be supporting Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley’s new food pantry.

If you are able to donate, please do so either through Beth David; DONATE and choose Sale of Hametz Donation or directly to JFS, select Support for Adults & Families and write in the comment area that it is for the food assistance program. Participating in the mitzvah of ma’ot chittim enables us to fulfill the words we recite at the seder, “let all who are hungry come and eat.”
