- (14:8-10) The continuation of Joshua and Caleb’s encouraging words to the people. As a reward for their effort, the people threaten them with stoning.
- (14:11-45) God threatens to destroy the people, but Moses intercedes. God relents, but decrees that this generation will die in the wilderness after 40 years of wandering, except for Joshua and Caleb. A group of Israelites test God’s threat by trying to attack Canaan, and are repelled by the Canaanites.
- (15:1-7) Laws concerning sacrifices.
