Library

The Robert E. Levinson Memorial Library was named in memory of Robert E. Levinson (z”l), a San Jose State University professor, writer, Jewish educator, and Beth David cantor.

The library is in its new location. Adult fiction and young adult books are in the board room (between the Beit Tefillah and the Beit Midrash). The adult non-fiction and reference books are in the Beit Midrash. Children’s books will be in the religious school area. We have a broad selection of Jewish reference material, fiction and non-fiction books, and periodicals, always including the latest releases, for adults and teenagers. We are open during normal synagogue office hours.

In September 1997, under the auspices of the Robert E. Levinson Memorial Library and the Beth David religious school, Congregation Beth David launched the Miriam Gannes Memorial Reading Program, sponsored by Dr. Abraham Gannes (z”l) and family in memory of his wife, Miriam Gannes (z”l).  The Gannes family continues to sponsor this voluntary reading program for our children.
