B’TAYAVON! – THE BETH DAVID COOKBOOK

As part of the annual theme of “Building Community Around the Beth David Table,” a synagogue cookbook is being published.  B’Tayavon! was chosen as the cookbook’s title because it speaks to the Jewish view of food as a way to celebrate life and community.

B’Tayavon! is a friendly Hebrew expression which means more than its literal translation of “in appetite.”  Enjoy your meal! Dig in! Bon appetit! Eat with gusto! Appreciate the food and the people with whom you are eating!

Sharing food and conversation is one of many ways a community can build connections to family and friends, and it’s one we can all do.  Next time you are sitting at a Beth David table, try wishing everyone there– those whose names and faces are familiar and those who are still unknown to you – B’Tayavon!  Together we can make our community stronger than ever.

But you don’t have to take our word on this.  Watch this video and learn from an expert.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cm0outiuM0
