Triennial Cycle Year I: Genesis 44:18-45:27
Ḥumash Etz Ḥayim, page 274
Haftarah: Ezekiel 37:15-28, page 290

  1. (44:18-34) Judah pleads with Joseph to spare Benjamin for the sake of their aged father. He offers himself in Benjamin’s place.
  2. (45:1-27) Joseph reveals his identity to his brothers. He calms their fears: “Do not be distressed or reproach yourselves because you sold me hither; it was to save life that God sent me ahead of you.” Joseph sends his brothers home to tell Jacob the good news and to bring him to Egypt.
