thank you for helping us exceed our goal of $5,000!
Nutritious food is the foundation for a healthy, active life.
Second Harvest’s buying power and use of volunteer workers allows them to deliver two nutritious meals for every dollar donated. For many donors, donations will be tax-deductible and/or qualify for matching donations from their employers.
When the Rabbis speak about Tzedakah, they use phrases such as “your brother.” They do so as a reminder that those in need must be treated as family members rather than as people who are wholly other.
In Judaism there is no such thing as “those people,” for we all are G-d’s children.
We live in an extremely wealthy area, but many can’t meet basic needs such as food, housing and clothing. Seeing one’s children hungry is painful.
