Helpful Year-End Tax Reminders

The tax deduction deadline for year 2021 giving is December 31, 2021.

Please plan accordingly for making tax-deductible donations and payments.
OFFICE CLOSURES: The office will close at 2pm on Thursday, December 30 and remain closed through Friday, December 31. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY. 

If you are required to take a minimum distribution (an RMD) from your IRA, you may be able to avoid taxes and make a Qualified Charitable Distribution. Check with your IRA custodian and your tax advisor about making a Qualified Charitable Distribution to Congregation Beth David.

  • Cash donations must be received in the office by 2:00 pm December 30, 2021
  • Checks received after December 31, 2021 can be included on your 2021 tax letter if the check is dated and postmarked on or before December 31.
  • Credit card transactions must be processed in the 2021 calendar year for tax-deductible donations to appear on your 2021 tax letter. We accept Visa; Mastercard; American Express; Discover.

Call the office for credit card donations/payments by 2:00 pm December 30, 2021.

Stock Donations – Please be aware that stock donations can take many days to process so please arrange any stock donations accordingly. Please contact Monica Hernandez for our brokerage information, notify that you made a stock donation, or with any questions. 408-366-9108; hernandez@beth-david.org.
