We are excited to announce that Beth David has adopted a theme for Jewish calendar year 5785 —
Building Community Around the Beth David Table.
The idea is to build connections among our members and larger community around events related to hospitality, nourishing our bodies and our souls, providing care to those in need, and, of course, food (and yes most things we do are around food!). The annual theme will culminate in the publication of a Beth David cookbook.
Some of the events we are planning include bake offs, cooking demonstrations, classes, dinners, and mitzvah projects. All Beth David groups and committees are encouraged to plan one or more events related to the theme. Rabbi Kunin and Rabbi Roller will be offering classes and are looking forward to participating more broadly in the initiative.
This page will be devoted to the annual theme and will include a calendar of events, ideas for ways to get involved, information about the cookbook, and a lot more.
Bonnie Hirsch (buildingcommunity@beth-david.org) will be coordinating the schedule of events and Rhoda Bress and Cathy Beyda (cookbook@beth-david.org) are co-chairing the cookbook initiative. Stay tuned for more information as we want each and every one of you to be involved in this meaningful community building effort.
