6:45 Welcome and Purpose: Moving forward on our research, important reports, and last minute preparation for research meeting.
6:46 Results from CBD Board meeting re: PACT membership (5 minutes): Discussed the abstention votes of the Board. Some were focused on elderly needs within the Beth David community that should have apriority. This more likely should be addressed by our social action community. Certainly, we feel that Noten Yad’s accomplishments will benefit the Beth David elderly and the wider community. We should consider having a joint meeting with social action so we can brainstorm and work together.
There were serious concerns with PACT website and that the disclaimer on the membership list page is not really strong enough. We need to address this issue.
6:51 PACT website: How to address this issue and how to help tweak (10 min) the website to satisfy concerned Board members.
7:01 PICO and tax vote issue: PICO has taken a position to support the passage of the governors initiative to bring extension of certain taxes & fees to the voters. After some discussion we decided that our committee’s position would be one of support for bringing this to the voters but we would not participate in any action supporting a vote on ether side of this issue.
7:11 Speaker prep – (10 min)
7:21 Scheduling:
Training on how to talk to congregants to get more support and participation in Noten Yad.
