Saturday, January 14, 2012, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
We will discuss The Jewish Husband: A Story of Love and Secrets in Fascist Italy by LIa Levi, led by Ruth Kohan. The novel is “a bittersweet story of passion and hatred, cruelty and oppression.” A young Jewish professor falls in love with the Catholic daughter of a family that enthusiastically supports Mussolini’s anti-Semitic actions. He ultimately wins the woman’s affections, but to do so must deny his origins. All adults and teens are welcome. For more information, email Adult Education.
