Social Action works with West Valley Community Services to provide a rotating shelter for about fifteen homeless men while they search for work.  Beth David provides housing in June.  Ronnie Gordon leads efforts to obtain needed licensing and permits, arrange for meals (served at the Church of the Ascension) and sign up greeters who [...]

Social Action also leads a yearly Louis Chevlen Memorial blood drive.  It will be held Tuesday December 15, 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Beth David.  Please contact Mike Harris if you can help on the day of the blood drive.

We’re also continuing our tradition of providing and serving a Christmas meal at the EHC Lifebuilders homeless shelter in San Jose.  This is a very successful event that Social Action has carried out for number of years.  We need helping hands to make the meal and donations to buy the food. From Thanksgiving to Pesach, we’re putting our efforts to “Blanketing the Community” by providing new and gently used blankets to those in need in Santa Clara County. Both homemade and purchased blankets will be grateful accepted.  There’s a great need for blankets over the Winter and early Spring.  We will be collecting blankets during events [...]
