Shavuot Services Beth David Jewish Book Discussion Group A Trip to the Zoo Hazak Presents: Game Night/Ice Cream Social Play some familiar games. Learn some new ones. Schmooze a little too. Bring all your old, broken, unused, outdated or just in-the-way computer and electronic equipment to CBD for recycling. We will have trucks and plenty of assistance on hand to help you unload your vehicles, so bring as much as you want! No need to enter the building—everything will be done in the parking lot. Do your part to keep the planet green and support Beth David at the same time. The more you dump, the more we earn! *Sorry - we cannot accept items after 3:00 pm Volunteer Appreciation Rotating Shelter Now through June 27 Again this year, Beth David will be hosting the Rotating Shelter. Our guests will be here from May 30th through June 27th. Volunteers are needed to provide dinners, shop for breakfast and lunch supplies, and greet the men when they arrive in the evenings. You can now recycle your used, empty inkjet cartridges at CBD! Look for the specially marked green box in the lobby (by the front door) and just drop your cartridges into the slot. Beth David Memorial Garden A beautification program at Beth David Memorial Garden has begun. A resolution was passed earlier this year for the pricing of memorial benches. The cost will be $5000 for a granite bench with engraving of memorial commemoration(s) or $2750 for ½ of a bench. Only when a full bench has been purchased will the bench be built and installed. The granite will be similar to the granite gravestones currently at Beth David Memorial Garden. Although this may seem challenging, especially amidst the hectic life of having a toddler, it is a lot easier than it sounds. All it takes is an open heart, a few tips and tricks, and the desire to dedicate a few moments during our daily lives to the creation of Jewish memories. Come join us for this user-friendly three part series designed to help you share your love of Judaism with your toddler. Babysitting will be provided so that you can bring your toddler with you. Bagels and coffee will also be provided. All levels of experience and knowledge are welcome and each class is independent of the other so you can feel free to drop in on any one that you choose. Shir Shabbat is an upbeat and joyous Friday evening service (held every 4th Friday) welcoming in Shabbat, complete with Carlebachi melodies, dancing and instruments. After the service, young adults will be enjoying a separate kiddush to get a chance to unwind and celebrate Shabbat.
